Winter in Ruhpolding
Winters in Ruhpolding are full of snow and magical. The miles of cross-country trails (about 50 km) in Ruhpolding are always very well and carefully prepared for both beginners and advanced. Ruhpolding is very well known by the yearly (in January) returning World Cup Biathlon. In 2012, even the world biathlon championships were organized.
For skiers and snowboarders there are four ski areas in Ruhpolding and about 15 km from Ruhpolding is the Resort Winklmoos – Steinplatte that from December to Easter is one of the snowiest regions in Europe.
